The Ethiopian Nuclear Science Society (ENSS) participated in a consultative workshop on the pre-feasibility study for establishing a nuclear research reactor at Addis Ababa Science and Technology University (AASTU). The workshop was organized by the AASTU Nuclear Reactor Technology Center of Excellence, in collaboration with the Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) and the Korean Nuclear International Cooperation Foundation (KONICOF). The event took place on December 20-21, 2023, at the Swiss-In Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The workshop brought together various stakeholders to discuss the potential establishment of a nuclear research reactor at AASTU, which could serve as a hub for nuclear science and technology research and development in Ethiopia. The ENSS’s participation in this event underscores its commitment to supporting the advancement of nuclear science and technology in the country.
